SIA (Security Industry Authority Approved Qualification – Door Supervisor

Historically the most popular SIA license is the Door Supervisor License. This is because, it not only helps you to work in pubs and clubs, it also allows you to undertake all the activities covered by the SIA Security license.

Additionally, the Door Supervisor Course covers Event Security (e.g., working at the large music festivals that run throughout the summer). This means that one SIA license enables you to work in three sectors of the industry, thus maximizing your job opportunities.

The aim of the SIA (Security Industry Authority), the UK licensing authority for the private security industry, is to increase and standardize the skill and professionalism of those employed in the Security Industry.

Therefore, anyone carrying out the role of a CCTV Operator, Door Supervisor, Security Guard, or Close Protection Operative, must hold a valid SIA license. This also applies to Directors and managers of security companies, or anyone employing these staff directly e.g. pubs and clubs who employ staff “In House”.

Without having training, you cannot obtain a badge. The benefit of using training services enables you to develop skills for the line of work you intend to enter. It provides an informed insight into the role before you actually join it. Since 2004, it has been illegal to work as a Security Officer or Door Supervisor without a valid SIA Security license.

They act immediately if the situation demands. It is because of the training only that a CCTV operator can easily identify any chances of crime which might evade the eyes of a layman.

3. CCTV Operators provide security to the public:

The CCTV operators are not only responsible for the operation of cameras in public places. At the same time, they also train the homeowners on the process of operating CCTV cameras at home. This helps a large number of individuals to feel safe and secured. The courses of SIA CCTV training empower the security staff with the ability to point out criminals, collecting evidence against them, and also control them from acting in the wrong way. It thus helps in reducing crime considerably in the UK. One of the main benefits of the SIA training courses is that it helps the individuals to develop the skills of identifying anyone having a suspicious body language long before any criminal activity may take place.
